Let me take a minute and introduce myself
I was born in Fairmont, West Virginia in 1954. I began building when I was 6 years old. My first model was a Stanley-Steamer, which
my female cousin helped me build. After that I was hooked, my dad
would keep my 25¢ weekly allowance until it reached enough to
buy me one of the great kits of the early 60s, my first being the
1949 Ford Coupe.
In 1972, I joined the Army, and in 1973, I married and we had 3 children. I continued building models while in the army, while stationed in Germany, I would find models in local toy stores, or
order some from Evers Shop in the states. I remember building a Revell 1957 Ford Ranchero in an Observation tower, over looking
the old East-West German border. When I finished it, I took it out
on the front deck of the tower and held it up for The East German border guard to see it. After studying it through his binoculars, he gave me a thumbs up.
I retired from the Army in 1992, and lived outside of Fort Knox, Kentucky, with my wife, 2 daughter’s and our boxer, Junior on 4
acres in the country. My son joined the Air force following the
families military tradition, and was stationed close to home at
Wright-Paterson Air Force base in Ohio.
In 2000 he married and shortly after was assigned to Eglin Air
Force Base, Florida. In September 2003, we sold our home in
Kentucky, and moved to Crestview, Florida, upon finding out we
were going to be Grandparents for the first time. It was our goal to
move to Florida, every since I got out of the army, and the birth of
our grandson was just the thing finally make the move.
It is my goal to share my models with you as well as sharing
the saving grace of Jesus Christ with you, and my most sincere
prayer is through this website, you may also come to know him as your personal savior.
